Izzy and I have started an art collective that we are really excited about. Both of us have always felt the need to create things - whether they are photographs, paintings, poems, songs, jewelry, or apparel. We wanted to take all the ideas in our heads and materialize them, but we wanted to do it in a way that was mindful. So in early August of 2012, Cote-Armour was born. We want this site to be a platform for us to share our work and the work of our artist and musician friends. We want people to be able to come here to discover something new and something that inspires them. We want them to find something they can’t stop thinking about - a photo they can’t stop seeing, a song they can’t stop hearing. We are so excited that we already have so many incredible artists involved - every model from our Fall 2012 Lookbook creates some sort of art that really makes us think. We’ve got a lot more artists and some of our favorite NY-based musicians lined up for collaborations coming up soon, and we can’t wait to show everything to the world. We’ve been working so hard these past few months, running around the city gathering materials; studding, sewing, and embellishing until dawn; photographing people in all parts of the city; and lots and lots of sitting in front of the screen and staring. But every second we’ve spent on this has been worth it, and the best part is getting to share our vision with all of you guys. So if you want to be a part of this force of nature, join us, won’t you? We want to amass the creative kids and the tough kids, the kids who can’t stop thinking and the kids who don’t back down, the kids who have the highest goals and dreams, and the kids who won’t stop until they achieve them. Sometimes this means not sleeping, doing your homework, eating, or showering, but we don’t care if you haven’t washed your hair in a couple days; in fact, we prefer it, ‘cause gnarly is forever and gnarly never dies.
